Planting Seeds of Hope: Inside the God’s Girls Program
It’s been a year of growth, learning, and undeniable impact for God’s Girls. What started as a safe place for middle school girls on Saturdays has expanded into three Rochester city schools, with more expected next year. And it’s changing lives. “I didn’t plan any of this,” says God’s Girls Director Lakeysha Evans, referring to the growth of the program over the past year. “God opened the doors—we just walked through and said yes.”
Courts of the King: Gospel, Grit, and Brotherhood
At first glance, it might look like just another city basketball program. Kids shooting around. Coaches shouting instructions from the sidelines. The scoreboard ticking down. But step into the gym at YFC Rochester’s Friday Night Basketball, and you’ll quickly realize...
YFC Performing Arts Academy: Bringing Bible Stories to Life
Kathy McGill, our newest YFC Board Member and now Program Director for the Performing Arts Academy, is no stranger to transforming young lives through the stage. With decades of experience and a heart rooted in ministry, she is now preparing to launch a new season of Bible-based theater that blends creativity, education, and spiritual growth.
Looking up on Favor St!
We had another amazing Flower City Work Camp at Youth for Christ Rochester. The gym was full, but not only that, this year our classrooms and basement were also filled with painting projects and flooring projects, and installing a washing machine and dryer for our basketball program.
It was such a blessing to see the kids of our region on fire for the things of God.
Meanwhile, the kids of our city are reeling from another bout of violence. We had our fifth shooting at our fourth rec center this year.
Our kids don’t feel safe in their city. They’re looking for a safe sanctuary where they can have the gospel of Jesus Christ presented. That happens every week, all year long at Youth for Christ Rochester. Come and see for yourself!
Baptisms at YFC!
Coach Felix Ortiz and a teen from the basketball program at YFC share their testimony of being baptized.
